Why does the calculator ask about Form W-4?

Your employer withholds Delaware tax based on the Form W-4 you filled in, which is separate from your federal Form W-4. If you never filled one in, employers usually withhold as single with no allowances.

Does this include Delaware city or local tax?

Wilmington's 1.25% city wage tax is not included. Check your pay stub or your city's tax office for the local rate.

What is the Delaware Paid Leave deduction?

Delaware paid leave costs 0.8% of wages, and employers may require employees to pay up to half (0.4%). Tick the box if your employer pays it all.

When do I get my last paycheck if I quit or get fired in Delaware?

Delaware treats quitting and being fired the same way. Your final wages are due on whichever comes later: your next regular payday, or three business days after your last day of work.

How much is taken from my paycheck for Delaware Paid Leave?

The total Paid Leave contribution is 0.8% of wages for 2025 and 2026. Your employer can deduct no more than half of it from you, which is up to 0.4% of your pay, and can choose to pay your share itself.
